🚢 Recommended Ship Preparation
Essential Brig Build
Do NOT enter the Dark Sea with anything less than a Ketch, but a Brig is highly recommended.
- Stability: Aim for 90%+ (prevents capsizing in waves)
- Speed: 100+ Speed is needed to outrun Atlantean Brigs
- Hull Health: 15,000+ HP for survivability
- Enchanter: Reduces ongoing damage
- Shipbuilder: Repairs ship passively
- Navigator: Increases clearing of fog/speed
🌀 Insanity Layers Explained
Layer 1: The Fringe (Insanity 0-1)
Difficulty: Moderate
Waves are large but manageable. Atlantean ships spawn occasionally. Great for farming Dark Sealed Chests with low risk.
Layer 2: The Depths (Insanity 1-2)
Difficulty: Hard
Constant screen distortion. Giant waves. Aggressive Atlantean Brigs. Best drop rates for Exotic Enchants.
Layer 3: The Abyss (Insanity 3+)
Difficulty: Nightmare
Players constantly hallucinate. Requires Warding 3+ gear to survive. Only for the most prepared crews.
💎 Dark Sea Loot Table
The rain in the Dark Sea causes "Water Poisoning" which stacks. You MUST have a ship with a completed interior (Galley/Quarters) to take shelter, or carry clearstone.
